Tangdhar, September 20: MLA Karnah, Javed Ahmad Mirchal, has strongly raised the pressing concerns of his constituency before Secretary Rural Development Department (RDD) and Panchayati Raj, Jammu and Kashmir, Aijaz Asad (IAS), urging immediate intervention to resolve long-pending issues affecting developmental works on the ground.
During the meeting, Mirchal highlighted the acute shortage of technical staff in the Karnah region, which has severely hampered the smooth execution and timely completion of various rural development projects. He emphasized that without adequate technical manpower, flagship schemes and infrastructure initiatives remain stalled, directly impacting the lives of people in far-flung areas.
The MLA also pressed for clearance of long-pending MGNREGA (NREGA) bills, underlining that hundreds of poor laborers and workers have been awaiting their rightful dues for months. “MGNREGA is a lifeline for the rural poor, and delays in wage payments are causing immense hardship. The government must ensure timely disbursement to restore people’s trust in welfare schemes,” Mirchal asserted.
He appealed to the RDD Secretary for special attention towards Karnah, a border and remote constituency that faces unique geographical and administrative challenges. Mirchal reiterated his commitment to act as the voice of his people and ensure that the developmental backlog is addressed with urgency.
Secretary Aijaz Asad, while acknowledging the concerns, assured that the department would examine the issues raised and take necessary steps to strengthen the system, resolve the bottlenecks, and expedite pending liabilities.
The meeting has sparked hope among locals that long-neglected demands of the border constituency will finally receive government focus.
