Tangdar, Sept 17: A major step towards strengthening women’s health and family well-being was taken in Karnah on Tuesday as the nationwide Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan was launched at Sub District Hospital (SDH) Tangdar with a Mega Health Camp.
The campaign was inaugurated by SDM Karnah, Zaffar Ahmad Lone, in the presence of BMO Karnah, Dr. Khawaja Arif, along with senior officials, dignitaries, and medical professionals.
With a strong focus on women’s wellness, the health camp brought together a wide range of specialists, including a psychiatrist, gynecologist, pediatrician, and general physician. A dedicated team from the Department of AYUSH also participated, conducting patient screenings and distributing free AYUSH medicines.
Patients received free diagnostic services and medicines, including USG, ECG, CBC, blood sugar, and blood pressure tests. Officials informed that in just the last 17 days, 559 USG tests have been carried out—281 of them free of cost, while 40 USGs were performed on the inaugural day alone. By the afternoon session, nearly 350 patients had already been screened at the camp.
Alongside diagnostics, doctors provided counseling on lifestyle-related disorders, preventive care, and curative treatments, ensuring the outreach extended beyond immediate check-ups.
Officials highlighted that the Abhiyaan’s vision is to empower families through healthy women, underlining that preventive care and accessibility of health services form the backbone of stronger communities.
The overwhelming public response at Tangdar reflected people’s trust in the initiative, with hundreds turning up for consultations and screenings—sending a clear message of support for the motto: “Healthy Women, Empowered Families.”
