Anantnag Tragedy: Two Killed by Electrocution While Saving Goods from Flooded Market

Anantnag, Aug 27: In a tragic incident, two persons lost their lives after suffering an electric shock while attempting to save goods from inundated shops in Gangiwara area near Achabal Adda of Anantnag district on Wednesday.

According to officials quoted by news agency KNC, the victims came in contact with a live wire while retrieving belongings from the flooded marketplace. Rescue teams immediately rushed to the spot, but both men were declared dead on arrival.

The incident has triggered shock and grief among locals, many of whom had gathered at the market in efforts to salvage their possessions from rising floodwaters.

Authorities have appealed to the public to remain vigilant in waterlogged areas, warning against venturing near submerged electric poles and installations to prevent further tragedies.
