Gaza Under Relentless Bombardment as EU, UN Condemn Netanyahu’s Reported Push for Full Occupation

Gaza City – Israeli airstrikes continued to pound the Gaza Strip on Tuesday, as international condemnation mounted over reports that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is pushing for the full military occupation of the enclave.

The European Union and the United Nations issued sharp rebukes, warning that such a move would escalate the already dire humanitarian crisis and potentially violate international law.

EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell called the idea of full occupation “deeply alarming” and urged restraint, while UN Secretary-General António Guterres said the situation in Gaza is “catastrophic” and warned against “any further expansion of military operations.”

More than 30,000 Palestinians have been killed in the months-long Israeli offensive, according to Gaza health authorities, with vast areas reduced to rubble and over 80% of the population displaced.

Despite mounting pressure, Netanyahu has doubled down on the offensive, insisting that total victory over Hamas requires “absolute security control” over the territory.

The latest developments risk further isolating Israel diplomatically, as global outrage over the scale of destruction in Gaza continues to grow.
